Cuphead’s popularity seems to be as strong as ever. 2017’s hit 2D-scroller game, which takes us back to 1930’s weird Disney cartoons, received massive acclaim for its art design and the challenge it provides. The game received many awards but nothing alike number one spot on Billboard 200 jazz list.

Such reward goes a long way and shows that videogame music is gaining more and more recognition.

Kristofer Maddigan has been seen on multiple conferences detailing many jazz and ragtime inspirations for the soundtrack. As a lot of work and research was put into the creative process, Cuphead remains as one of the most interesting projects of past years, which also happens to be  deeply rooted in animation and music history.

To see „Selected Tunes from Cuphead”, a vinyl release of a videogame score, on number one spot in the jazz section on Billboard 200…such reward goes a long way and shows that videogame music is gaining more and more recognition, recognition it deserves. There is nothing left to do, but to congratulate Kristofer Maddigan and MDHR for making such wild visions real.
