Austin Wintory’s The Pathless theme analysis

8-Bit Music Theory released another video regarding Austin Wintory, this time featuring the composer himself who was very surprised with the last material analysing his main themes and was eager to collaborate.

The whole soundtrack is very interesting as this game has mythic-like story and vibes, like the stories being told for the future generations. The composer wanted to represent this folklore in the score so he used instruments like various world percussion, nyckelharpa, viola da gamba, oud, bass kazoo, Tuvan throat singers – in addition to the orchestra.
