Some of the most beautiful moments in politics are those that lead to soldiers dropping their guns, differences being put aside and uniting hundreds of people under a common and ambitious goal. Such was the case just several hours ago, when the president of Mozambique and armed opposition party’s leader signed a peace accord. All with Baba Yetu being performed by a live orchestra sitting behind the leaders.

The majestic and optimistic sound of Baba Yetu seems like a perfect way to end any war.

Although the game this piece has been composed for, Civilization IV, does not belong in the violence-free category of video games, this does not stop it’s iconic theme from accompanying real-life history. It’s hard to blame anybody, though. The majestic and optimistic sound of Baba Yetu seems like a perfect way to end any war.
