A barrage of musical news from Remedy on their latest project goes on as the game is only a couple days from the release. The latest video shows one and only Sam Lake and Poets of the Fall’s Marko Saaresto talking about the band’s Poets of the Fall input to the game.
Poets appearing in Control, a pretty significant game in Remedy’s history, is remarkable.
Back in 2003 they were featured in Max Payne 2 with their song „Late Goodbye” being played numerous times in the game and later becoming their debut single. The cooperation between Remedy and the Poets went on and the band later produced two songs for Alan Wake („Children of the Elder God” and „The Poet and The Muse”), appearing in the game as the Gods of Old Asgard. All of the songs were significant to the games’ themes, storylines and memorable gameplay sequences, forming on of the most interesting artistic relationships in game music.
Which is why Poets appearing in Control, a pretty significant game in Remedy’s history, is remarkable. It’s been 16 years since Max Payne 2 and it seems completely natural and fitting that their paths cross again at this point in time. Can’t wait to hear it.
