Red Dead Redemption 2 is a haunting experience thanks to its somber and tense atmosphere, making it one of the most ambitious soundtracks of the decade. Despite featuring a lot of great score material, the game includes a dozen songs playing in key moments, further extending the musical universe of RDR.

It’s as much captivating as the game’s score, featuring many talented performers under Lanois’ distinctive lead.

The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2, an album produced by Daniel Lanois (known for making records with Brian Eno, U2 or Bob Dylan), was just released on CD and Vinyl, previously being available only digitally. It features 13 songs and instrumentals performed by musicians from many genres, including Lanois himself who wrote 6 songs (including „That’s the Way It Is”).

Accompanied by D’Angelo, Rocco deLuca, Josh Homme, Willie Nelson, or Rhiannon Giddens, the album is a constant flow of Americana, country and blues tunes that mark the end of the Outlaw era. It’s as much captivating as the game’s score, featuring many talented performers under Lanois’ distinctive lead. You can buy the score on CD here.
