It features 13 songs and instrumentals performed by musicians from many genres, including Lanois himself who wrote 6 songs (including „That’s the Way It Is”).

Accompanied by D’Angelo, Rocco deLuca, Josh Homme, Willie Nelson, or Rhiannon Giddens, the album is a constant flow of Americana, country and blues tunes that mark the end of the Outlaw era.
